Domestic Violence is an epidemic in our nation. Every five years, as many people die from domestic violence as died in the Vietnam War.
Two out of five females killed in this country die as a result of domestic violence. Fifty percent of all women will receive at least one serious beating from her partner during her lifetime.
According to the U.S. Surgeon General's Workshop on domestic violence, battering is the single largest cause of injury to women, exceeding rapes, muggings and auto accidents combined.
